Student Affairs Leadership Certificate

The Student Affairs Leadership Certificate is designed for students who aspire to serve in administrative roles in student affairs and related areas such as athletics administration, residential life and student activities in higher education. This certificate deepens students’ understanding and skills in student affairs administration, including focusing on current leadership contexts and best practices in managing student life and engagement in colleges and universities.

Classes & Curriculum

The certificate consists of 12 hours of graduate-level instruction, and includes the following courses, among others.

  • College Students and Development Theory
  • Diversity Issues in Higher Education

Voluntary Internships

Internships give you opportunities to get hands-on experience, refine your understanding of your coursework and make professional contacts who can assist your future career development. Internships are voluntary experiences that take place outside of the program curriculum: students do not receive credit for internships. 

Tuition & Fees

In keeping with Temple’s commitment to access and affordability, this Graduate Certificate offers a competitive level of tuition with multiple opportunities for financial support.

Tuition rates are set annually by the university and are affected by multiple factors, including program degree level (undergraduate or graduate), course load (full- or part-time), in-state or out-of-state residency, and more. These tuition costs apply to the 2024–2025 academic year.

Pennsylvania resident: $1,105.00 per credit
Out-of-state: $1,518.00 per credit
